Assalamualaikum.

You can tell that i am extremely hungry when i'm writing a review about restaurant and food in the middle of the night. hehe

Few weeks ago I took opah to come with me to Shah Alam cause she wanted to spend some bonding time with my auntie who lives in Shah Alam, so my auntie took us out to this one awesome restaurant at Section 7, Shah Alam.

I usually have this weird instinct that a dodgy looking restaurant always serve great foods and again, my hipothesis is proven this time. This restaurant is not a fancy looking restaurant, it's a very plain chinese mix thai restaurant but boy, the food was so good.

I would say the star of the night was the famous Thai Assam Fish. Gosh, im drooling right now. I also like the sotong goreng tepung, eventhough it is battered, but the batter was so light and crispy. The butter prawn was good as well, especially the crumbs. Oh delish!

It's a known fact that me and the jungle don't gel. We are not 'sympatico' at all. HAHA

However, I survived this trip to Taman Negara last weekend, Alhamdulillah. Being me, I don't really have much sports attire and I don't bring my sports gear to my house in Shah Alam therefore I look like a foreign particle in the jungle.

As soon as we arrived at the resort, had our lunch we went straight to Sungai Tembeling to do Rapid Shooting. Now, here is where the fun part begin. We were boat riding upstream to the Tribal Village and passed by few rapids and the boatman will 'rempit' everytime they pass by the rapid. It was really scary but definitely a wet and wild experience.

Next we went to the tribal village where Batek tribe lives. It is surprising to see that they are still maintaining the tribal culture. We were briefed about their lifestyles and whatnot. One of the interesting fact about orang asli is their marriage custom.

Do you know that, if a couple wants to get married, the groom must build a tent far inside the jungle and brings the bride to spend the night in the jungle to 'discuss' and to see whether they are compatible or not.

If the bride doesn't get along very well with the groom, they will not considered married. As for the bride, they must be able to cook this type of ubi called ubi gadong which is poisonous. If the ubi is not cooked properly, it can cause death.

You see, marriage is a life and death matter for tribal people. Hihi

It was fun, you guys should come and visit Taman Negara, Pahang. :)

Assalamualaikum.

My dad bought lamb shoulders the other day so we decided to have an extra special dinner cause it's not everyday that we get the chance to talk and just enjoy cooking together in the kitchen.

We made lamb chop with mushroom gravy, roasted tomato, onion rings and iced chocolate. The food wasn't superb but it wasn't so bad either. Nevermind, what's more important is the good time we had.

I also couldn't help but notice the weather is scorching hot lately but it's a very good reminder for us. No?

And what's lovelier in a hot weather than ice cream?

We went to Haagen Dasz, De Garden Ipoh and ordered their fondue but I was a little bit disappointed. It was way too overpriced (obviously) and their service was blegh. The portion of cakes and fruits were small, i feel like it's not really worth it. But it tasted soo good, no doubt about that.
